The actress, writer, and producer Lisa K. Crosato’s thriller “Devoured,” which is based on the true story of the Sheila LaBarre murders, recently received the Multi Dimension Independent Film Festival’s EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT award. She is producing the film in Epping, New Hampshire, along with Joe Spanos and Sheila’s sister Lynn Noojin. Since the project is being produced by Lynn Noojin, there will be new information that has never been made public in a book or movie before. Spanos led the project after forming a friendship with Lynn and realizing that the story had to be told.

The project is being referred to as Monster meets Fatal Attraction by the producers. The team has just completed a pitch deck and only accepts serious inquiries.

Sheila had a vision with her sister Lynn that she had been told by men in white robes that she was going to go back to earth to become an avenging angel and rid the world of pedophiles after a car accident left her in a coma for days.

According to Crosato, the process of writing this script was a deep dive into the mind of a very disturbed woman, who, according to many, has killed more people than the two men she was found guilty of killing. In the early 2000s, her first victims were her boyfriends Kenny Countie and Michael Deloge. On Sheila LaBarre’s 115-acre farm in Epping, New Hampshire, unidentified human toes were discovered. Crosato went on to say that female serial killers are extremely uncommon, and this story is absolutely riveting when you get a real look at her abuse and trauma as a child. We just don’t think women can commit such terrible crimes.

Crosato has won awards for other scripts and projects. When she wrote her first screenplay, XXL, she was guided by Mardik Martin, a well-known screenwriter (Raging Bull, Mean Streets). On February 18th, she will attend the 75th DGA Awards. Sherry Lee Lowery Kilpatrick of GTK PR represents her.
