Keanan Duffty was promoted to the position of Dean of Fashion at Istituto Marangoni Miami, along with Eva Hughes as Executive Vice President and Brenda Diaz de la Vega as Senior Director of Communications, Partnerships, and Brand Development.

Keanan Duffty

Duffty is a British fashion designer who has won awards. He is also a musician, an educator, and the author of “Rebel Rebel: Anti-Style.” Additionally, he is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America Education Committee and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Duffty has extensive experience in the fashion industry, including working as the Design Director for John Varvatos, Ben Sherman, Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B., and Moods of Norway, as well as his own New York-based fashion label with collections sold worldwide at 150 premium retailers like Bergdorf Goodman. He dressed the Sex Pistols for their American tour in 2003, and in 2007, he collaborated with David Bowie to create a Target fashion collection that was inspired by Bowie.

Duffty founded the Master’s program in Fashion Management at Parsons School of Design in 2019 and served as Director of the program following his time as Director of Fashion Programs in Executive and Continuing Education. He then joined Istituto Marangoni Miami, which is also known as The Miami Fashion School.

Eva Hughes

Eva Hughes was a founding member of the prestigious advisory board for Istituto Marangoni. Hughes was the founder and CEO of Adira Consulting, the CEO of Condé Nast México & Latin America, and the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue México & Latin America before joining Marangoni. In December 2022, Hughes received an honorary master’s degree in fashion and luxury brand management at the school’s final graduation ceremony.

Brenda Diaz de la Vega

As the new Senior Director of Communications, Partnerships, and Brand Development, Brenda Diaz de la Vega will report directly to Hakan Baykam, the company’s founder and CEO. In addition to her previous positions as Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar Mexico & Latin America and L’Officiel Mexico, she is well-suited to lead the brand development and communications strategy of the rapidly expanding school and its non-profit counterpart, the Miami Fashion Foundation.

Her 20-year track record of leading the communications strategies in Latin America for some of the world’s top luxury brands, such as CHANEL and PRADA, makes her well-equipped to lead the brand development and communications strategy.

The Istituto Marangoni, which was established in Milan in 1935 by the tailor Giulio Marangoni, provides a one-of-a-kind combination of academic instruction and creative and practical activities that are interwoven with the institution’s extensive Italian heritage.

Throughout its nearly 90-year history, Marangoni has shaped countless key fashion and design industry figures, including Franco Moschino, Julie de Libran, Andrea Pompilio, Rodolfo Paglialunga, and Alessandro Sartori.
